"Love" - "Telegraph Road" - Valou

Hello everybody!

Valou here with a new card!

For this card, I chose to use papers of a new collection " Kaisercraft ", "Telegraph Road" and a paper " Bazzil Cardstock Blanc ". Edges are used with "Old Distresser" and inked to the ink "Distress Walnut Stain".

I used an image of our sponsors " Sassy Studio Designs ".

I colored it in the following way:

- Ink "Distress Tattered Rose" and "Distress Vintage Photo" for the skin.
- Ink "Distress Black Soot" for hair.
- Ink "Distress Festive Berries".
- Ink "Distress Forest Moss".
- Glitter Stickels Icicle.

I cut the image and I inked it to the ink "Distress Walnut Stain" also. Then, I stuck it on a die-cut realized with "Cuttlebug" and a dies " Spellbinders-Nestabilities - Majestic Ovals ".

Under the image, I stuck of the ribbon " Organza Hearts Red ".

Then, I added the following flowers which I covered with some touches of "Glitter Stickels Icicle":

- A big cloth pink flower.
- Two white flowers of cherry tree.
- Two cloth white roses.
- A white flower " Lilidaft ".
- Two red flowers with pistils.
- A pink rose and a cream (15 mm).
- A pink rose " Kaisercraft ".
- A pink carnation and a cream.

- Two die-cuts "Foliages" realized with a dies " Toga ".

Finally, I added a wooden corner coming from the shop " HobbyCutz ".

Above, I stuck a bow which I realized with a piece of ribbon " Red Organza ". I decorated it with a white rose " Kaisercraft ".

And here is for the explanations!

I thank you for your passage and wish you an excellent day! Bye for now!

Melissa - Hand Stitching Tutorial

Good morning! Its Melissa here and I'm back with another layout made with the beautiful Kaisercraft Telegraph Road.  This time I decided to make a clean-style layout featuring the majority of patterned papers from the collection on a white cardstock background.  I punched out a heap of circles from the 6x6 paper pad, then arranged them in a grid.  I layered my photo and one of the 4x6 cut-apart cards, and then placed the entire layout on a piece of patterned paper from Crate Paper (Flea Market by Maggie Holmes) to create a border.

I kept the embellishment simple too, with some wood veneer hearts, a Paper Bakery flair badge, and white tag which I stamped and embellished, and some grey ink splatters.  My journalling explains that my daughter and I went shopping to buy her some new winter clothes, and of course she had to pick pink jeans with white hearts!  I will admit that if there had been adult sizes I would have got a pair too!

As my sewing machine wasn't cooperating I decided to hand stitch around the cardstock, to both assist in adhering the paper, and to create a feature in itself.  The following tutorial explains my process:

1. Measure and pencil in an even line around the cardstock then pierce holes at even distances apart ( I did this freehand).

2. Erase the pencil lines. My favourite eraser to use on cardstock is an electric eraser from Smiggle:

3. Select the embroidery thread you wish to use:

4. I use washi tape to secure the thread on the back of my layout, this saves having to tie knots.

5. Back-stitch around the perimetre of the layout using the pierced holes.  This is painstakingly slow but so worth it.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.  I love the extra texture that machine and hand stitching adds to my layouts, and it ensures that my layers are secure.  You can purchase the Telegraph Road Collection in the shop here.

Thanks for looking, see you in March!

Betsy - Now Boarding Cards

Betsy here, this lovely morning, to share some cards I have made with Kaisercraft's Now Boarding Collection. I must admit this one didn't come all that easy for me ( I love flowers, ribbon and bling, as no doubt you all know! ), but was quite pleased with the end result. For those people who love travelling I'm sure it would be an appropriate range to do your scrapbooking with. Here goes ladies, see what you think.

This is a collection that was brought out for February but my cards missed the Magazine, as the papers didn't arrive to me in time. A little slip up but all's good now.

As I have said before, the collectables which come with each range, make card making so quick and easy. This last card was made using the Cherry Lynn Step Card Die - it is a very useful die which I do use a lot.

Do remember the fun going on at Artfull Crafts - Liz always exciting things happening so don't miss out. We are really looking forward to the camp coming up in a fortnight - lovely Trina McClune is going to be with us.

All today ladies, happy crafting and many blessings,

Christine - Hello Sunshine

Hi there Christine here today.
I have been playing with the Kaisercraft Hello Sunshine Collection this month and here is a set of cards I have made.....
I chose 3 colours of matching cardstock to use as a base for each card. The first 2 cards use Cherry cardstock (which is looking very orange in my photo!)

The green cards use the Fern cardstock as their base

The last 2 cards use Smoke cardstock for their bases.

I got out some of my embossing folders to use - love this woodgrain one behind the owl.
I even did a little sponging with a Heidi Swapp stencil on the base for the green hippo card.
Using bits of the Collectables pieces makes embellishing the cards really quick and easy!

Happy Creating

For this card, I used some paper " Bazzil Cardstock " and papers "Kaisercraft", collection " Telegraph Road ". Edges are used with "Old Distresser" then inked to the ink "Distress Walnut Stain".

- Ink "Distress Tea Dye" and "Distress Vintage Photo" for hair.

Michelle - Kaiser Now Boarding

Going on a holiday soon? Or looking for the perfect gift for someone heading on their OE?
The Kaisercraft Now Boarding range is the perfect collection to use to create a travel journal to record those travel memories.
I had this plain journal in my craft stash, and used the papers and collectables in the Now Boarding Collection to personalise the journal. By adding a ribbon around the journal it keeps everything secure when it's tucked into a bag on the go.

On the inside cover I used a 4x5 card from one of papers to create a pocket, where information on the journey can be keep.

Strips from the papers can add detail to the pages ...

The collectables also add detail to pages but still leave lots of room for details to be added ...

In the inside of the back cover I cut out some of the stickers from the main sticker sheet (with backing still attached). These can then be peeled off and used during the trip when journalling and other details are added ...

And a 3x4 card on the back of the journal ...

You could also easily adapt this for a child by using one of the other fab collections by Kaiser.

Telegraph Road

Hi Everyone!  Lydia here today with a quick layout with the Telegraph Road Collection from Kaiser.  This is a pretty collection with pinks, blues, and greens.  Such nice colors to work with after seeing all the grey of winter here in the States.

I used this collection with a photo of my youngest son and his Valentine Box for school.  Each year for Valentine's Day, they have a wee party at school.  They bring decorated boxes and wee cards with candies on them to exchange with their friends.  My son wanted to use my Washi tape stash for his box.  It was really adorable the patterns he paired together and did his name as well.

I love how this collection can be used for both boys and girls as well as for many other occasions.  It was a fun one to play with.

Make sure you pop on over to the Shop to find this and other great products!

See you next time!!

Betsy - Hello Sunshine Cards

Betsy here this morning to share some Hello Sunshine cards from Kaisercraft, which were supposed to be for the February Workshop Magazine. I didn't receive the collection in time but I have still had fun using this fabulous range of papers. It is just great for kid's cards.

Now the challenge at Artfull Crafts, for this month, is HELLO SUNSHINE so I do find it appropriate to share this collection. All agree!!

This " Card In a Box" is so fun to make and there are plenty of tutorials on the web. Splitcoaststampers would be one blog to find the instructions on. It folds down flat, for putting in an envelope, for posting.

Martha Stewart " Cherish " round the page punches were used for this card - love them! The collectables make card making so simple.

Another one of my finds recently, was this die from Lea'bilities, 45.8923. Very simple but Oh so nice.
If you talk nicely to Juanita at the shop, she may just be able to secure it for you! She is very good that way!!
Of course, I have used the Saturated Canary digital stamps which I do enjoy colouring with my Kaiserfusion pens.

That's it ladies. Do remember the challenges that Artfull Crafts have going at the moment, they are fun to participate in and there are prizes to be won. There's not  much SUNSHINE here at the moment so far, but you can still enjoy the SUNSHINE challenge!

Happy crafting and many blessings,
